FAQ's

What sort of materials do you use?
As a general rule, I use natural fabrics, most often cotton, though you may find some wool or silk thrown in quilt battings or appropriate garments. For cold weather jackets I also use non-pill fleece. All fabrics are pre-washed to eliminate the possibility of shrinkage or dye-bleeding. Unless the label specifies otherwise, all items are machine washable and dryable. I recommend using cold water and gentle cycles in both the washer and dryer to protect the fabrics' vibrancy. Delicate buttons should be wrapped with aluminum foil before washing and drying.

What is the sizing system?
The sizing of the clothing is deliberately loose, allowing a longer period of wear for growing kids. Make every effort to purchase the correct size because, upon return, it's possible that I may no longer have the item in a different size. In such a case we can discuss whether I have an acceptable alternative or whether I can make something comparable. Below are the measurements I use in constructing my garments. Keep in mind that because each item is handmade, these sizes may not be exact for every garment; they are close enough, however, given the generous construction of these garments.

How much will clothing shrink after washing?
Not at all. I machine wash and dry each item to prevent further shrinkage or color bleeding.

How do I care for my garment/item?
All my products are machine washable and dryable. However, I recommend gentle cycles, cold water, and line drying to preserve the vivid fabric colors. In exigent circumstances, or cases of extreme laundry emergencies (which I know arise often with kids), you can throw them into the wash with a normal load. If your garment has delicate buttons, though, wrap them in aluminum foil to protect them.

Your items are one of a kind: what if I and someone else order the same item?
I will do my best to keep the site current, indicating which items have been sold and in which sizes. Other than that, it's essentially first come, first served. Of course, I understand the disappointment of not being able to purchase the item you wanted and am happy to work with you to find a good and satisfying alternative. Just shoot me an email.

Do you do custom work?
I am happy to do custom work, provided that my schedule will accomodate it.
